The Kairos Prison Ministry is a lay-led, interdenominational Christian ministry in which men and women volunteers bring Christ’s love and forgiveness to prisoners and their families. Kairos leads a men's retreat twice a year at the Fountain Correctional Facility in Atmore, AL. In the years the Kairos Prison Ministry have been organizing these retreats, more than 2,900 inmate participants plus countless officers, staff members and other inmates have been directly touched by God's love. The recidivism rate in U.S. prisons is more than 50% but less than 20% for inmates who attend Kairos Weekends and stay involved. Kairos makes an impact that is both significant and measurable.
The Kairos team asks for 1000 dozen home baked cookies from friends, neighbors and churches. The Respect Life Ministry led "Cookies for Kairos" and exceeded their goal of 250 dozen cookies through parishioner and community support and members of the Respect Life Ministry baking cookies together in the parish kitchen. In addition, our Knights of Columbus organization financially supported the Kairos Prison Ministry.
