Pastoral Council

Guided by the Four Pastoral Priorities of the Archdiocese of Mobile, the Parish Council is committed to helping our parish grow in holiness, service, and outreach.

1. Evangelization

We help lead the parish in proclaiming the Gospel with clarity, joy, and conviction.

• Identify outreach opportunities in our community
• Support programs that welcome seekers and the curious
• Encourage parishioners to share their faith confidently and lovingly
• Collaborate with ministry leaders on evangelization strategies
• Ensure our website, social media, and signage reflect an inviting Catholic presence

2. Parish Growth

We serve a rapidly growing community and are called to welcome, engage, and re-engage Catholics across all stages of faith.

• Create clear pathways for new residents to connect with the parish
• Promote visibility in the community—online and in person
• Invite newly registered members into relationship, not just record-keeping
• Reach out to Catholics who have been away from the Church with compassion
• Ensure parish communications are timely, welcoming, and accessible

3. Strengthening the Family

We recognize the family as the domestic church and strive to nurture it at every stage.

• Encourage family-friendly scheduling for events, liturgies, and formation
• Support ministries that accompany families in all seasons of life
• Promote parent involvement, seasonal devotions, and intergenerational gatherings
• Ensure parish life uplifts children, parents, grandparents, and caregivers alike

4. Serving the Needs of Neighbors

We seek to embody the compassion of Christ through acts of mercy and justice.

• Identify spiritual and material needs within our parish boundaries
• Promote ministries that serve the poor, the sick, and the lonely
• Expand opportunities for parishioners to engage in hands-on service
• Build partnerships with local organizations to better serve the common good

5. Encouraging Vocations

We foster a culture in which priestly and religious vocations are recognized, supported, and celebrated.

• Encourage prayer for vocations across all parish platforms
• Celebrate and support youth discerning God’s call
• Affirm those who may be called to priesthood or religious life
• Promote visibility of religious vocations through liturgy, communications, and events

How the Parish Council Functions

We are a prayerful, forward-thinking advisory body—not a maintenance committee or event planning team. Every meeting begins and ends in prayer, and every decision is rooted in discernment.

• Listen to the Holy Spirit and the needs of our parish
• Reflect on parish life through the lens of the Five Focus Areas
• Propose strategies for growth, outreach, and evangelization
• Advise the pastor and parish staff on long-term planning and vision
